Hogging Up BBQ Festival is a not-for-profit festival, even though it’s being coordinated by Big Fat Daddy’s with the help of several non profit groups. We would like to thank the Frederick County Fair Manager, Richard Leight for his wonderful help and guidance.
The goal is to bring people from all over the nation to Winchester Virginia, help stimulate the local economy when they stay in the local hotels, gas up at the pumps, eat the local food and see the local attractions .
Proceeds from the gate fees will help raise donations for the local Clear Brook church, Volunteer Fire Department and Cancer Care.
Libations are exclusively sold and 100% of profits are pocketed by the Local Winchester Exchange Group.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society fees go back into the $5300 Prize Purse + Cover the Cost of Trophies, Prizes, etc. Whatever is not covered is forked out by Big Fat Daddy’s.
Monies made on food, sponsorships or vending fees help absorb cover the costs of the Bands, Soundman, ASCAP/BMI Fees, County Permit Fee, Port A John’s, Security, Fairground Rental, Ice, Attractions, Photographer, Advertising (Print & Radio) and Festival Expenses such as additional electric for the competitors.
We hope that the public will come out and support this good cause.
The venue for 2014 is not yet determined.
Starting in 2015, there will be a Hogging Up event held in New Jersey as well.
