We would like to tell you that the Blue Angels being grounded due to the sequester, has strongly impacted Col. Steven Blevins livelihood. Col. Blevins, who lives in West Virginia, fully retired in 2001 which afforded him the ability to take his “Blue Angels” Dream Photo unit on the road, (A cockpit of a Blue Angels Plane, ) He used to go to airshows and festivals all over the place–sometimes as far as Texas. This set up would allow you to sit in the cockpit of his plane, for a small fee, and get a professional photo taken to display on your wall.
Sadly, the air shows were all cancelled end of April and into May, forcing Col Blevins out of retirement and back into the full time workplace. What is this world coming to?
Lucky for us, Col. Blevins will be still dropping off his plane, but instead of charging for cockpit photos, he will have it grounded due to the sequester (and the fact he’s working nights at his new job) For the public this means, free photos, in front or on the sides of the plane, so bring your camera and your cellphones and snap away.
When are you going to see another Blue Angels plane?
Not for some time.
