FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC: We don’t presell tickets, as we have gate admission when you come. Just so you know, our festival runs three days in June 27-29th. Regular admission is only $5 on Fri, $8 on Saturday and #TBD on Sunday but kids 12 and under are Free! Check with your favorite stores or local friends to see if they’ve received any savings postcards or coupons. We have a great lineup of music with a 5 stop BBQ Tour (2 on Friday and 3 on Saturday) where Professional BBQ Competitors will talk to the public about the world of Barbecue. Saturday there will be a (pay-for-sample) Sample Tasting Tent where 10 teams will turn in tasty barbecue for the public will vote on. Great bands, vendors, food to eat, beer to drink and activities for the kids all three days. On Sunday, see the locals try their hand at a backyard bbq competition. VIPS ONLY : 48 SPACES, SOME RESERVED FOR MEDIA/PRESS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED - We now have two VIP packages that are wherein the activities herein are not open to the general public and only VIP pass holders may participate in our Private Tour Event and Private VIP areas. VIPS are mixed in with News, Media, Press Crews and VIP County Officials. We have 48 additional spaces, 24 open on each VIP package, which we will update here once they are filled.
24 VIPs will be able to purchase the Gourmet Package, and 24 VIPS will be able to purchase the Behind the Scenes Package.

The difference on the two packages is simple:
The Gourmet VIP Package includes this PRIVATE EVENT. As a VIP, you will be removed from the public on Friday night and be our guest as a VIP judge along with news, media and county officials. No professional judging experience is required, you will be given a lesson onsite. These contests are not barbecue, so you won’t witness any pork, ribs, brisket or poultry….. Instead, they may include Anything Butt” or “Dessert” entries. The fate of the Professional Teams winners for these contests will be in your hands, so it’s a very interesting interactive experience. The Behind the Scenes Tour Package includes this PRIVATE EVENT. As a VIP, you will be removed from the public on Saturday , and be our guest as a VIP behind the scenes with news, media and county officials. This is for the more curious and we like to compare this to Backstage Passes. You’ll accompany the organizer to see what happens in the BBQ Building on Saturday during the major 4 KCBS categories judging. You will see the inner workings of a contest. ITINERARY: By end of February, we will send you special passes and a printable itinerary of the contest so that on very busy days of Friday and Saturday, you won’t miss a thing! We will follow up with you to make sure you have received it .
**The Grand Prize drawing entries go into a box to be drawn by our band after our award ceremony Saturday night. Two winners will be announced. Those winners may bring a guest and have a 4 category sampling dinner prepared for them by a Grand Champion BBQ Team (who has been inspected and permitted by the Frederick Co. Health Department)., within 2 hours from the drawing time. You must be present to win and plan on staying for your free dinner! This drawing is open to the General Public who has purchased entries Fri, Sat onsite, up until the drawing. Odds of winning are unknown, it’s based on amount of chances sold. Winnings go to our charities this year.
VIP CANCELLATION POLICY: There will be no cancellations or refunds, this event on rain or shine. If in the event you cannot attend, you may however transfer your package to another party but they must have your pass to get in. You may also wish to let us know who is taking over your VIP seating and make sure they have your passes. In the event you can’t show up there will be no refunds as these passes are presold.
